Bergin's new responsibilities include directing Tax Analysts' day-to-day operations, including overseeing its finances, sales, personnel policies, contracts, litigation, publications, and production. He also serves as chair of Tax Analysts' executive council.
Tax Analysts' founder Thomas F. Field remains as publisher and president and will focus on Tax Analysts' long-term future. "I am really pleased that Tax Analysts goes into the future in strong capable hands, and I'm glad too that I'll still have a role and be able to contribute," Field said.
Bergin joined Tax Analysts in 1991 and became editor of Tax Notes in 1993. Before coming to Tax Analysts, he was in charge of the federal tax current awareness products at Prentice Hall Inc. in New Jersey. Born in New York and a current resident of Clifton, Va., Bergin received his B.A. degree from Boston College and his J.D. degree from Pace University School of Law.
